I'm not one to review usually, mostly because I prefer reading one-shots anyway to "fluff" up my day, so to speak. But I must say that your fic was a most thought-provoking one, one that shows both excellent writing skills on the whole and a wealth of knowledge combined wisely into beautiful piece of work. I chose to read the original ending and stick with that, even though I wouldn't mind reading the "happy" ending
Even though your fic does not end with the "perfect ending" of any sort [again, sticking with the original ending] it was well planned and it makes sense to end the way you ended it. I also found your fic to be quite plot driven and noticed that your characters, for the most part, take on their role for the plot's sake, but still I find that you keep everyone in character quite well.
On a final note, I wish this was the end of the series rather than what JKR has offered. Your fic offers the magic and ingenuity that the original HP series has shown to the readers.
